Gang of Four: The most influential band of 2005
"The most influential band of 2005". A BBC Radio 1 documentary about Gang of Four. Presented by Anthony Roman of Radio 4.
Gang of Four were always going to be too politically abrasive and musically off-kilter for mainstream assimilation, and yet, two decades later there is no hipper name to drop than these legends in subversive art-pop. The Futureheads, the Liars, Ladytron and the Departure contribute.
Hehe....so fucking right. Really no hipper name than GO4.

a couple of classes back in Criminal Law, we were doing sections relating to dacoity etc.
Seems that the minimum number of people required to constitute a gang as per the Indian Penal Code is five.
the rest of the class I was thinking only of GO4. :)

D-uh?
actually, according to wiki, the Gang of Four behind the band's name is that of Claude Lévi-Strauss, Michel Foucault, Roland Barthes, and Jacques Lacan, though the citation is also listed as dubious/dicuss. :)
